What can one person offer another aside from a mere glimmer of warmth? And what could be more profound than that?
Anexcursion that opened a new perspective on Armenia. Nothing hinted at the captivating blend of myself, my team, and Yerevan on that December day. While we had planned a traditional tour of Yerevan, what happened was a rare, once-in-a-year occurrence! To keep some mystery, I'll only share the stories of the people we met along the way.
First, there's my team: Selene from AVC, Dayna, Teni, Ella, and myself. Our remarkable team embarked on this journey together! Each of us played a unique role, offering inspiration and guidance despite the unpredictable weather in Yerevan.
Then, there was Mrs. Gayane, who graciously helped us find the necessary details and shared delightful stories about her large Armenian family. In the heart of the city, we met two Russian tourists who brightened our day with a joke, keeping our spirits high as we continued on our way. Their kindness was truly appreciated.
The excursion took an unexpected turn. From the start, it wasn't an ordinary tour; it was an immersive dive into the heart of Yerevan. With each new task, our understanding deepened, even as we communicated in Russian, English, and French.
Mrs. Asmik stands out as a truly gracious host, offering her help with genuine interest, providing valuable advice, expressing gratitude for our curiosity about her homeland, and showering us with many kind words.
By the end, fatigue had set in, but I held onto the warmth that lingered within me for a long time. I appreciate every experience I gained at Birthright Armenia, but this one stands out as a unique and enriching encounter."
